About Share Nest

There Had To Be A Better Way.

After decades in the property industry, we watched the dream of home ownership slip further out of reach for everyday Australians. Instead of accepting it, we set out to change it.

A warm, inviting Australian home at golden hour

Hi, I'm Aaron from Share Nest, and I'm on a mission to help 1,000 Australians who couldn't afford a home on their own to purchase a house with someone else through co-ownership.

I believe no one should be locked out of the property market simply because the traditional way of buying no longer fits their life. Share Nest exists to give everyday people a smarter, more affordable pathway to owning a home they can truly call their own.

Where it all began

When I first left school, I started out in the electrical industry. It wasn't long before I started my own electrical company, spending my days going in and out of homes across the community.

Over the years, I serviced many single people and older Australians who had lost their partners and were now living home alone. They were often very lonely, and they didn't have much spare cash. I saw firsthand how many good people were doing it tough, quietly struggling with both isolation and the rising cost of living.

That experience stuck with me. It shaped the way I think about home, community, and what it really means to live well.

From trades to property

Later in life, I went on to complete my diploma in finance and mortgage broking, and I'm currently working through the process to become a fully licensed mortgage broker. I've also spent the last seven years running my own property consulting business, helping investors and owner-occupiers build new homes right across South East Queensland.

With more than two decades of experience across trades, finance and property, I've seen the housing market from almost every angle. And in the last few years, one thing has become impossible to ignore.

The housing market has changed

More and more people simply cannot afford a home. Only 20 years ago, you could buy a house for three to four times your yearly income. Today, it's closer to ten times. We used to be able to save for a deposit in 12 months. Now it can take 10 to 20 years to put together the hundreds of thousands of dollars lenders expect upfront.

Taxes are rising, interest rates are unpredictable, and it's getting harder and harder for everyday Australians to get a foot in the door. The system that worked for previous generations is leaving too many people behind.

The people we want to help

In particular, we want to help people who feel like they have run out of options. People who have been through a divorce and need to start again. People looking to downsize who are still facing enormous price tags. Older Australians who are home alone, lonely, and stretched thin financially.

These are the people Share Nest was built for. Good, hardworking people who deserve the security and pride of owning their own home, but who need a different way to get there.

A smarter way to own a home

Through the Share Nest program, everyday Aussies can get into the market from around $300,000 to $500,000 and purchase a quality four-bedroom home through co-ownership. Every property is designed with privacy in mind, so you get your own studio space: your own bedroom, ensuite, kitchenette, and living or dining area, all separated from the other co-owner.

But you also have a communal area. A shared living space and kitchen where you can connect with your co-owner when you want to. Some people prefer complete independence, while others, like single women who want the comfort of knowing someone else is around, appreciate having both privacy and community under the one roof.

It's about giving you the best of both worlds: a home that's truly yours, with the option of companionship when you want it.

That's the future we're building.

Ultimately, we just want to make home ownership more affordable for everyday people. If you've ever felt like owning a home was out of reach, we want you to know there is another way. We're here to guide you through it, from your first question to the day you pick up the keys.

Because everyone deserves a place to call home.

Every Journey Starts With A Conversation

Home ownership is changing. For many people, buying alone is no longer the only option, and perhaps it never should have been. If you're curious about co-ownership, have questions about the process, or simply want to understand whether Share Nest could be the right pathway for you, we'd love to have a conversation. No pressure. No obligation. Just a chance to explore what's possible.
